An Abandoned Resort

We wake up in our floating hotel rooms, on the edge of the 5 acre resort we were staying in. Our group of 9, along with the two strong night skeleton crew were the only people there. It's an eerie sensation, walking around a resort, fit for hundreds, laying empty. Some sections are maintained. Some in disrepair. I estimate the appliances are all from the '80s. I speculate that was the peak of this place. I don't think it'll see another 40 years.
We walk around, leaving the resort through the massive gate, past Thai Eggplant and Rambutan farms, with workers already tending them. We meet some dogs. We find a small strip, with a corner store and a small restaurant, along with a few houses. We turn around. We need to get back for breakfast.
We arrive at breakfast a little early. Only our guide, Malee, is the only one who arrives at the allotted time. We speculate no-one slept well. The beds felt like wooden boards. My watch, which usually gives me analysis on how well I slept, thinks that I didn't sleep at all. We eat breakfast, using the small amount of Thai that we've picked up with the servers. They're impressed. They teach us how to say "Hot coffee" I imagine that will be useful. Before long, It's time to check out and get on the bus, so we can head to our day activities. I'll tell you all about them, later on.
